I am a coffeeholic! A lover of everything coffee! Including coffee liquor.
This wonderful recipe to do your own coffee liquor at home is great! You are in control of the intensity of the coffee, the strength of liquor and the sweetness of the syrup.
As I love a very strong coffee flavor, I chose very dark roast coffee beans. You can use ground coffee for this recipe. Just make sure to strain it and discard it after.
A few days ago, I had opened a white rum bottle and ended using just a few ounces. So, 20 oz of rum left couldn't go to waste. Leaving it forgotten in the pantry to lose its spirit was a terrible idea, especially when I could make my own coffee liquor with it!
I left my coffee beans in the rum for five days. You can smell and taste a few drops every other day until reaching the desired coffee intensity. After five days, I just did my sugar syrup and blend it with my rum coffee.
I had to try it first, you know! Because I needed to check and double-check its flavor was perfect before sharing it with you. Maybe a shot was fine. One homemade-Kahlua coffee was absolutely delicious. But the best of them all was this homemade-Kahlua Creme Brûlée.
Why settling for a great flavor that's full of all bad things? Why don't making it yourself? Is easy and delicious! Hope you love it as much as we do!
Let me know what's your favorite "Kahlua" recipe!
Lots of love,
